There are two executable files, telpac_node and telpac_aci. Both are located in the /usr/sbin/ directory. Telpac_node is the user connect interface. Telpac_aci is the APARS update program. When combined with Cron, Telpac_aci will connect to the MBO and update the node's status.
The other two files /etc/ax25/telpac.cfg and telpac.hst are configuration files. Telpac.cfg is the only one that needs to be changed. Telpac.hst is a list of PBMO hosts.
File /etc/ax25/ax25/ax25d.conf should be edited to reflect your Telpac node's call sign. There is a script (telp.sh) which will allow you to setup your Telpac node. Once you have run the script and started Cron your Telpac node will begin reporting it's existence to the Win2000 system.
Telpac_aci is the binary that executes an automatic check-in. At the cmd line, type telpac_aci. You should see the dialog as the node checks in to the first available PMBO in the /etc/ax25/telpac.hst file. Cron is setup to execute aci every hour. Check /etc/crontab to be sure .....
